（中央社記者黃國芳嘉義縣18日電）嘉義縣環保局於20日端午節在荷苞嶼生態園區辦理活動，結合生態教育導覽及定向越野運動設施，提供親子一起親近自然生態環境。
嘉義縣環保局今天表示，荷苞嶼生態園區面積廣闊，親水性佳，營造兼具水質改善的溼地、植栽各類花草，有豐富水生植物，園區中常可發現多種鳥類，如紅冠水雞、白鷺鷥、小白鷺及白頭翁等，吸引民眾遊憩。
環保局近年來推廣環境教育，常藉由荷苞嶼生態園區結合定向越野運動，將於20日端午節舉辦探索生態定向運動的活動，讓前往遊憩民眾了解生態溼地外，也提供親子一起親近自然生態環境。
環保局指出，定向運動（定向越野）是結合體能、越野技術和用圖知識的綜合性運動。民眾若預約報名，可上嘉義縣環保局網站查詢，當天現場也能接受報名。1040618
